Dell Latitude E7440 — 14" Full HD Business Ultrabook
A slim 14-inch business ultrabook with an Intel Core i5-4300U, 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. Supplied with no operating system, ready for your own Windows or Linux build. Professionally tested and graded by Reboot IT, with a 12-month warranty included.
Key Benefits
-
Intel Core i5-4300U processor — Dual-core with Hyper-Threading, 1.90 GHz base and 2.90 GHz turbo. A low-voltage chip designed for long battery life without giving up everyday responsiveness.
-
8GB RAM — Room to keep a browser, email client and Office documents open simultaneously without the machine bogging down.
-
128GB SSD — Solid-state storage with no moving parts: faster boot, quicker file access, and better resistance to knocks than a mechanical drive.
-
14-inch Full HD display — 1920x1080 in a 14-inch panel gives noticeably sharper text and more usable desktop space than the 1366x768 screens common in this class.
-
Slim, durable business chassis — The Latitude E-series was built for corporate fleets, with a magnesium-alloy frame and a keyboard rated for heavy daily use. Around 1.6 kg, it travels comfortably.
-
No operating system installed — A clean slate. Install the Windows build or Linux distribution you prefer, with no pre-loaded software to strip out first.
Performance in Use
The Latitude E7440 was Dell's premium 14-inch business machine, and the qualities that earned it that position still hold up for everyday work. The Core i5-4300U is a low-voltage Haswell processor: it will not win benchmark contests against current silicon, but for email, web, word processing, spreadsheets and video calls it remains entirely adequate. Paired with 8GB of RAM, it handles a realistic working day of several applications open at once.
The 128GB SSD is what keeps the machine feeling quick. Boot times are measured in seconds rather than minutes, applications launch without hesitation, and the absence of a spinning disk means no slow-down when the machine is asked to do two things at once. If 128GB sounds tight, note that the E7440 uses a standard M.2 SSD, so capacity can be increased later without replacing the laptop.
Where this machine genuinely stands out is the build and the screen. The magnesium-alloy chassis and spill-resistant backlit keyboard were specified for corporate fleets that expected several years of daily handling, and units of this vintage have usually had an easier life than consumer laptops of the same age. The Full HD panel is a real advantage over the 1366x768 screens fitted to most 14-inch laptops of this era — text is sharper and there is meaningfully more room to work. It suits a second machine, a study laptop, or a low-cost fleet rollout where a clean OS install is wanted anyway.

FAQ
Does it come with Windows?
No. This unit ships with no operating system installed. You can install Windows 10 or a Linux distribution of your choice. Windows licences are available separately. Note that this generation of hardware is not supported for Windows 11.
Can I upgrade the storage or memory?
Yes. The E7440 uses a standard M.2 SSD and has accessible SODIMM memory slots, so both storage and RAM can generally be increased. If a specific upgrade is essential to you, contact us before ordering and we will confirm on the actual unit.
Is 128GB enough storage?
For an operating system, Office and everyday documents, yes. If you store large photo or video libraries locally, either plan on an SSD upgrade or use external and cloud storage alongside it.
What condition is the battery in?
Battery health is graded before dispatch: 70% or better of original capacity for Grade A, between 50% and 70% for Grade B. Batteries are consumable and carry a 30-day warranty. Replacements for this model are readily available.
What ports does it have?
The E7440 provides USB 3.0, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, an SD card reader, a 3.5mm audio jack and a Dell docking connector on the underside for use with an E-Port docking station.
What shipping options are available?
Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout.
