What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.

A 1U rack-mount Layer 2 managed switch with 24 PoE+ ports and a 195W power budget — enough to run a floor of IP phones, cameras or access points from a single box, with no separate power injectors. Two Gigabit SFP slots and two Gigabit copper ports handle the uplink back to your core. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
This is an access-layer switch, and the PoE+ budget is the reason to buy it. A typical desk IP phone draws 4–7W and a fixed dome camera 8–12W, so 195W comfortably covers a full 24 ports of telephony, or roughly 15–20 cameras, without a separate injector for each one. Where it runs out is high-draw endpoints — pan-tilt-zoom cameras or multi-radio Wi-Fi 6 access points can pull 25–30W each, and a dozen of those will exhaust the budget well before the ports run out.
The access ports are 10/100, not Gigabit, and that is the deliberate trade in this model. For IP telephony, door controllers, printers, badge readers and the overwhelming majority of surveillance cameras, 100 Mbps per port is more headroom than the endpoint will ever use. For desks moving large files, or anywhere a workstation needs a full gigabit to the floor, choose the 2530-24G-PoE+ (J9773A) instead — the same switch with Gigabit access ports.
The uplinks are where the Gigabit sits. Two SFP slots take fibre or copper transceivers for a run back to a comms room, and two 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports cover shorter copper hops. That combination is what keeps a fully loaded 24-port edge switch from choking on its way upstream. Management is standard Aruba/ProCurve fare — if you have configured a 2530, 2540 or 2920 before, the CLI will be immediately familiar.

| A — Excellent | Excellent to very good cosmetic condition. May have light scratches or minor rack-rash on the chassis or ears. All ports tested and functional. |

Every unit is inspected, cleaned, reset to factory defaults and port-tested before listing. Cosmetic grading refers to the exterior only — switching and PoE performance is verified on every grade.
Are the 24 access ports Gigabit?
No. The 24 PoE+ access ports are 10/100. The Gigabit ports on this model are the uplinks — two 10/100/1000 RJ-45 and two SFP slots. If you need Gigabit to every desk, the 2530-24G-PoE+ (J9773A) is the model to choose.
How many devices will the 195W budget actually run?
It depends on the endpoints. Desk IP phones draw roughly 4–7W each, so a full 24 ports of telephony fits comfortably. Fixed cameras at 8–12W give you around 15–20. High-draw devices such as PTZ cameras or Wi-Fi 6 access points can take 25–30W each, so budget on wattage rather than port count.
Does it come with SFP transceivers?
No. The two SFP slots are supplied empty — transceivers are chosen to match your fibre or copper run and are sold separately.
Is it reset to factory defaults?
Yes. Every switch is wiped of prior configuration and reset to factory defaults before listing, so you start with a clean configuration and no leftover VLANs or passwords.
Can it route between VLANs?
Not fully. This is a Layer 2 managed switch — it creates and tags VLANs, but inter-VLAN routing needs a Layer 3 switch or a router. It supports static routing for management traffic only.
Are rack ears included?
Rack mounting hardware is not guaranteed with every unit. If you need ears for this switch, contact us before ordering and we will confirm what is available.
How is it shipped?
Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout. Switches are packed with protective padding for transit.
This switch is covered by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT. If a fault develops within the warranty period, contact us and we will arrange assessment, repair or replacement. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this warranty and are not limited by it.
