Flexoptix P.1396.10 10G SFP+ LR Transceiver

The Flexoptix P.1396.10 is a 10G SFP+ long-reach optic for single-mode fibre, running at 1310nm over links of up to 10 kilometres with a duplex LC connector. It is multi-rate from 600Mb/s to 11.3Gb/s, and Flexoptix builds it as a universal transceiver that can be reconfigured with the Flexoptix FLEXBOX to suit a wide range of switch brands. It is inspected by our team in Melbourne before it is listed and is backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT.

  • Universal coding. Reconfigurable with the Flexoptix FLEXBOX for many switch vendors.
  • Duplex LC connector. Takes a standard single-mode LC-LC patch lead.

Performance in use

A 10G SFP+ LR optic is the usual choice when a 10 Gigabit link has to cover more than a building: between buildings on a campus, across a site, or to a carrier hand-off. The P.1396.10 transmits at 1310nm and is rated for 10km over single-mode OS2 fibre with a 6.2dB power budget. Flexoptix supports it for 10G Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and 8G and 10G Fibre Channel, so the same module suits network switches and storage fabrics. Because Flexoptix modules are reprogrammable, the vendor coding can be changed with a Flexoptix FLEXBOX so the optic is accepted by the switch it is going into. Both ends of the link need a matching 1310nm long-reach optic and single-mode fibre.
