Dell PowerEdge R620 1U 8-Bay Rack Server

A dual-socket Dell 1U rack server with two 6-core Intel Xeon E5-2630 processors, 8GB of registered ECC memory, two 300GB 15K SAS drives, 10GbE SFP+ networking and redundant power. Supplied with no operating system and backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT.

Performance in use

The PowerEdge R620 packs two Xeon processors, eight hot-plug drive bays and redundant power into a single unit of rack space. With 12 cores across two E5-2630 chips it suits virtualisation hosts, application and web servers, file servers, backup targets and lab clusters where rack space matters.

The PERC H710 Mini controller with its 512MB non-volatile cache handles RAID across the front bays, and the two 300GB 15K SAS drives fitted give fast storage for an operating system or hypervisor. The remaining bays can be populated to grow capacity. The Broadcom 57800 network card adds two 10Gb SFP+ ports for fast uplinks alongside two 1GbE ports.

Two hot-plug 750W power supplies provide redundancy, and iDRAC7 Enterprise lets you manage the server remotely. It is supplied with no operating system and 8GB of memory, which can be expanded for heavier workloads. This unit powers on with healthy status lights.

All-in-one Solution for Home Office
