The Core i5-3437U is a dual-core, four-thread processor at up to 2.9GHz. It is 3rd-generation Ivy Bridge hardware, and it is worth being straightforward about what that means: this is a machine for light, defined tasks rather than a general-purpose modern laptop.
Within those limits it works well. The 128GB SSD and 8GB of memory make it responsive for web browsing, document editing, email and terminal work — particularly under a lightweight Linux desktop, which runs noticeably better than Windows on hardware of this age and remains fully supported with security updates.
It suits a first laptop for a student, a spare machine for travel where loss or damage would not matter, a Linux learning box, or a fixed single-purpose terminal. It is not a machine to run a business on, and we would rather say so than have it arrive as a disappointment.

Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Why is no operating system installed?
This processor generation cannot run a currently-supported version of Windows, so we supply the machine clean rather than installing software that could not be kept patched. It is ready for a Linux build, your own Windows licence, or a managed corporate image.
What is the best operating system for it?
A lightweight Linux distribution. It will run far better than Windows on 3rd-generation hardware and, unlike Windows 10, remains fully supported with security updates.
Is it fast enough for everyday use?
For browsing, documents, email and terminal work under a light desktop, yes. For modern heavy web applications or multitasking across many programs, no — this is a light-duty machine.
Can I upgrade the memory or storage?
Yes — memory and the drive are both accessible under the base panel.
How is data from the previous owner handled?
Every device is wiped to a documented erasure standard before it is listed. Nothing from the prior owner remains.
