What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.
What payment options are available?
We offer a variety of payment options to make your shopping experience as convenient as possible! You can pay using all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Afterpay, Zip Pay, and PayPal. If you prefer, we also accept bank deposits and even cash for in-store purchases!
We ensure secure processing of your payment information and do not retain or have access to your credit card details.
A compact 3-Series control processor for driving a single room: displays, projectors, lighting, shades, climate and small AV systems. Runs the full 3-Series control engine with 256 MB RAM and 4 GB flash in an enclosure barely larger than a paperback, and takes its power straight from the network over PoE. Backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT.
The RMC3 exists for the single-room job. A boardroom, classroom or huddle space needs a display switched on, an input selected, a screen lowered and the lights set — and it needs that to happen from one button rather than four remotes. A full rack-mount processor is overkill for that; the RMC3 does it for a fraction of the footprint.
What makes it genuinely useful is the mix of interfaces. Modern AV gear takes IP control, but the installed base does not: a projector on RS-232, an amplifier on IR, a motorised screen on a contact closure. The RMC3 speaks all of it, which is why these units are still deployed long after the displays around them have been replaced.
One thing to be clear about: this is a control processor, not a plug-and-play appliance. It runs a program written and loaded with Crestron's development tools, and it needs someone who knows that toolchain. Bought to extend or repair an existing Crestron estate it is straightforward; bought as a first step into room control with no programming resource, it will sit in a drawer.

Extending or repairing an existing Crestron estate Single-room control — boardroom, classroom, huddle space Driving legacy gear over RS-232, IR or contact closure Sites with PoE switch infrastructure DIN-rail or lectern installations where space is tight Integrators with Crestron programming capability |
Anyone without Crestron programming resource — this is not plug-and-play Sites with no PoE and no injector — none is included Multi-room or whole-building control — use a larger processor AV switching — it controls devices, it does not switch video Buyers wanting an out-of-the-box room solution Cresnet-heavy designs needing more device capacity |
| Grade A — Excellent | Excellent to very good cosmetic condition. May carry light scratches or other minor blemishes from normal service. Fully tested and functionally as-new. |
| Grade B — Good | Good cosmetic condition with more visible wear, scuffing or marking to the casing. Function and performance are unaffected and testing is identical to Grade A. |
Cosmetic grading describes the casing only. Every unit, whatever its grade, is tested to the same standard and carries the same warranty.
Is a power supply included?
No. The RMC3 is PoE powered and takes its power from the LAN, so a PoE switch port is normally all it needs. If your switch has no PoE you will need an injector such as the Crestron PWE-4803RU, which is not supplied here.
Does it really have relay outputs?
Yes — two normally-open isolated relays on a 4-pin terminal block, alongside two digital inputs. They are what you use to drive a projector screen, a lift or any contact-closure device.
Do I need Crestron programming skills?
Yes. This is a control processor, not a consumer appliance — it runs a program authored in Crestron's development tools. If you are extending an existing Crestron system that is routine; if you have no programming resource, it will not do anything useful on its own.
Can it switch video?
No. The RMC3 controls devices — it sends commands over IP, RS-232, IR and relays. Video switching needs a separate switcher.
How is it mounted?
Freestanding, stacked, surface mounted or clipped to 35 mm DIN rail. At 128 × 35 mm and 180 g it fits almost anywhere, including inside an electrical enclosure.
What is shipping and delivery like?
Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout. Orders placed before the daily cut-off are typically dispatched the same business day from our Melbourne warehouse.

Full 3-Series Engine, Tiny Box
The same control platform as Crestron's larger processors, with 256 MB RAM and 4 GB flash, in a 128 x 35 mm enclosure weighing 180 grams that fits a lectern, rack shelf or DIN rail.
Speaks to Legacy Gear
Modern AV takes IP control but the installed base does not. One bidirectional RS-232/422/485 port, two IR outputs, two isolated relays and two digital inputs handle projectors, amplifiers and motorised screens directly.
One Cable Does Everything
PoE carries both power and network, so a single Cat cable to a switch port is the entire infrastructure requirement - no local power supply and no dedicated power wiring.
Survives a Security Review
Enterprise networking with TLS, SSH, SFTP, IEEE 802.1X, SNMP and IPv6 support, so it can join a managed corporate network without needing a policy exemption.
