Refurbished Enterprise Servers — Built to Last, Priced to Win

Bench-tested Dell, HP and IBM servers for SMBs, system integrators and IT departments who refuse to overpay for new hardware.

Why Choose Refurbished Servers?

Refurbished servers deliver enterprise-grade performance at 30–60% less than new. Every unit is fully tested, warrantied, and ready to drop into production.

Buying refurbished also keeps capable hardware out of e-waste — a tangible win for both your IT budget and your sustainability reporting.

How Our Refurbishment Process Works

Every server goes through our Verified Reboot Refurb process: full hardware diagnostic, BIOS/firmware update, RAID controller test, PSU load test, and cosmetic regrade.

Each unit ships with a detailed test report, cosmetic grade, 12-month warranty and GST invoice.

Which Server Fits Your Workload?
📁

File & Print

HP ML110/ML350 tower. Quiet, 4–8 bays, ideal for SMB shared storage and Active Directory.

🖥️

Virtualization

Dell R630/R730 or HP DL380 Gen9. Dual Xeon, 64–256 GB RAM headroom for ESXi, Proxmox, Hyper-V.

🌐

Web / App

Dell R330 or HP DL360 Gen8. Single-socket, low-power, rack-dense for hosting workloads.

🗄️

Database

IBM x3650 M4 or Dell R730xd. High RAM ceilings + 12–24 drive bays for SQL/Postgres.

💾

Backup Target

HP ML350 or Dell T620 with 8+ LFF bays. Pair with Veeam or Synology-style appliances.

Tower vs Rack vs Blade

Tower

Standalone, runs on standard power, no rack required. Best for offices without a server room. Examples: HP ProLiant ML110, Dell PowerEdge T620.

Rack (1U / 2U / 4U)

Mounts in a standard 19" cabinet. 1U for web/edge, 2U is the general-purpose workhorse (most popular), 4U for high-storage or GPU. Examples: Dell R630, R730, HP DL380.

Blade

Multiple compute nodes in a shared chassis. Best for dense data-centre deployments where you already own the chassis. Available on request.

How to Choose a Refurbished Server

Five decisions to make before you buy — in plain English, no spec-sheet jargon.

01

CPU Generation

Xeon E5-v3 (Haswell) or v4 (Broadwell) hits the sweet spot for price vs performance. v4 supports DDR4-2400 and runs cooler.

02

RAM

Minimum 32 GB for virtualization, 16 GB for file/print. Our servers accept ECC RDIMMs with 12–24 DIMM slots for headroom.

03

Storage

SAS for hot-swap reliability, SATA for capacity, SSD/NVMe for IOPS. Check bay form factor (2.5" SFF vs 3.5" LFF) before buying disks.

04

Redundancy

Dual PSU + hardware RAID (PERC H730, HP P440) is standard on R630/R730/DL380. Single-PSU towers are fine for non-critical workloads.

05

Warranty & Support

Every refurbished server ships with our 12-month return-to-base warranty, GST invoice and ABN-friendly terms for Australian buyers.

Dell vs HP vs IBM — Which Server Brand?

We stock all three major enterprise server lines. Here's how they compare in the real world.

Dell PowerEdge R900 rack server

Dell PowerEdge

Best remote management

iDRAC is the easiest of the three to live with day-to-day. Best parts availability in Australia. The R630 and R730 are the most-deployed 2U workhorses globally — fleet-friendly and endlessly upgradeable.

HP ProLiant ML110 G10 tower server

HP ProLiant

Best for VMware shops

iLO management is rock-solid and HP Smart Array RAID is the gold standard. The DL380 Gen9 is the go-to choice for virtualization clusters — proven hardware, mature drivers, ubiquitous spares.

IBM System x3550 M4 rack server

IBM System x

Best value per dollar

Pre-Lenovo System x M4/M5 units are extraordinarily well-built. IMM2 management is capable but less polished than iDRAC or iLO. Our highest value-per-dollar tier — ideal for budget-conscious deployments.

Your Guide: Frequently Asked Questions About Refurbished Servers

 What is a refurbished server?

A refurbished server is a previously owned device that has been fully tested, repaired, and certified to ensure it functions like new. It offers the same performance and reliability as a new server but at a significantly lower cost.

Are refurbished servers reliable?

Yes, refurbished servers are thoroughly tested by trained technicians to ensure they meet strict quality standards. They are often certified and come with warranties for added peace of mind.

What warranty do refurbished servers come with?

All our refurbished servers come with a 1-year warranty and a 30-day return policy, providing you with peace of mind and flexibility. Extended warranties are also available for added protection.

How much can I save by buying a refurbished server?

Refurbished servers can save you up to 70% or more compared to the cost of a new server, making them a cost-effective solution for businesses.

What testing is done during refurbishment?

Each server undergoes rigorous testing of hardware components, including processors, memory, storage, and power supplies. Specialized software is used to ensure full functionality and performance.

Do refurbished servers come with operating systems installed?

None of our refurbished servers come with pre-installed operating systems, giving you the flexibility to install the OS that best suits your needs.

What brands of refurbished servers are available?

We offer top brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and more, ensuring a wide range of high-quality options for your business needs.

Can I get a quote with ABN and GST invoice?

Yes. Every order ships with a fully compliant Australian tax invoice including ABN, GST line and our business details. For 2+ unit purchases or pre-configured builds, email sales@reboot-it.com.au or call 1300 747 788 for a written quote with PO number reference.

Do you ship servers to commercial addresses with lift-gate delivery?

Yes. Tower and 2U+ rack servers ship via freight courier with lift-gate and tail-lift options for commercial delivery addresses. We dispatch from our Melbourne warehouse and freight Australia-wide. Add delivery notes at checkout, or contact us before ordering for a custom freight quote on multi-unit orders.

What's the lead time for 2 or more units of the same server?

Single in-stock units dispatch same-day from Melbourne if ordered before 2pm AEST. For 2–5 matching units we typically pick, test and dispatch within 1–2 business days. For 6+ matching units of the same configuration, lead time is usually 3–5 business days while we source and re-bench-test additional inventory. Contact sales for guaranteed timing.

Can I get a server pre-configured with specific RAM, drives or RAID?

Absolutely — this is a core part of our service. Tell us your RAM total, drive count/capacity, RAID level and OS preference; we pre-configure, burn-in test and ship the server ready to rack. Pre-configuration adds 24–48 hours to dispatch and is included free on all custom orders. Email sales@reboot-it.com.au with your spec list.

Do you accept purchase orders from businesses, schools and government?

Yes. We supply servers to schools, councils, universities and ASX-listed businesses on PO terms. Standard terms are payment on delivery via EFT against tax invoice; established accounts can request 14 or 30-day terms. Send your PO to accounts@reboot-it.com.au with delivery and contact details and we will confirm acceptance same business day.

Tower vs rack vs blade — which form factor is right for my business?

Tower servers (HP ML110, Dell T620) suit offices with no rack — they look and run like a desktop tower and use standard power. Rack servers (Dell R630/R730, HP DL380) mount in a 19" cabinet and are the default for IT rooms; 1U is most efficient for web/edge, 2U is the workhorse choice for general workloads. Blade servers only make sense if you already own a blade chassis. If unsure, contact us with your space, power and workload — we will recommend a fit.
