Australian Consumer Law and Your Rights
The Rights Afforded by the Australian Consumer Law
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), consumers are awarded specific rights that are inherent when purchasing goods and services. The ACL mandates that products must be without defects and fulfill their intended purpose. Additionally, services should be executed competently and with a certain level of skill. These mandated rights, known as 'Consumer Guarantees,' are automatically in effect whenever a consumer acquires goods or services.
The products we sell are accompanied by guarantees that the Australian Consumer Law does not allow us to exclude. You have the right to either a refund or a replacement in the event of a significant malfunction, as well as compensation for any other loss or damage that could reasonably have been anticipated. Furthermore, if the products are not of satisfactory quality and the deficiency is not considered a major failure, you are entitled to get the goods repaired or replaced.
The duration of Consumer Guarantees is not fixed; however, they typically extend for a period deemed reasonable, considering various aspects such as the product's price, quality, and any claims made about it.

Manufacturers warranties
Manufacturers warranties
The Australian Consumer Law ensures consumer protection by guaranteeing specific rights when purchasing goods and services. This law mandates that products must be without defects and function as expected, and services should be performed competently and skillfully. These mandated rights, known as 'Consumer Guarantees,' automatically apply whenever a consumer acquires goods or services and cannot be waived.
If there's a substantial problem, you're eligible for either a refund or replacement, along with compensation for any additional losses or damages that might reasonably be anticipated. For less significant issues that don't constitute major failures, you have the right to have the goods repaired or replaced, provided they are supposed to meet "acceptable quality."
There isn't a fixed duration for Consumer Guarantees; they last for what would be considered a reasonable period, based on the product’s cost, quality, and any claims made about it.
If you're concerned that an item you've bought from Reboot IT is defective, please consult our Refunds & Warranties guide. This outlines the basic solutions Reboot IT will offer if you encounter a faulty item. It's important to note that your entitlements under the Australian Consumer Law might exceed these time limits.
Manufacturers often run specialized support centers adept at handling problems related to their products. Sometimes they even provide in-home services and advanced troubleshooting. Since manufacturers can often offer a faster evaluation and fix for product issues, even after the warranty has expired, you might prefer to contact them directly. Nonetheless, you're not required to do so and if you're dissatisfied with the manufacturer’s resolution concerning your legal rights, you should contact us for further assistance.
