If you need wireless, a USB Wi-Fi adapter is the simple fix. A 6-core i5 with an NVMe SSD handles email, web browsing, Microsoft Office, a Teams call and a remote desktop session comfortably. With 8GB of RAM it suits a focused workload: a browser with a moderate number of tabs and a couple of Office documents open at once. If your users keep dozens of tabs open or run large spreadsheets, add memory, since the two SODIMM slots take more.

The 128GB SSD holds Windows 11 Pro, Office and the usual business applications with room to spare for working files. Machines that keep documents on a network drive, SharePoint or OneDrive rarely need more. For local media or large datasets, the storage is upgradeable.

The Tiny form factor is the main reason to choose this machine. It mounts on the back of a monitor or sits upright on a few centimetres of desk, which suits reception counters, hot-desks, classrooms, kiosks and meeting rooms. Because of the cracked corner, it is best suited to a spot where it sits out of sight, such as behind a monitor, under a counter or in a cupboard. The trade-off of the small chassis is expansion: there is no room for a discrete graphics card, so this is a productivity PC, not a CAD or gaming machine.

Technical Specifications

Model

Lenovo ThinkCentre M920Q Tiny

Processor

Intel Core i5-9600T, 6 cores, 9MB cache, 35W

Memory

8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM (2 x 4GB), 2 slots

Storage

128GB NVMe SSD

Graphics

Intel UHD Graphics 630 (integrated)

Operating System

Windows 11 Pro, licensed and activated

Chipset

Intel Q370

Video Outputs

2 x DisplayPort, 1 x VGA

Networking

Intel I219-LM Gigabit Ethernet.
